First, go to Access NYT. You will need to be connected to Monroe Community College's network in order to activate your New York Times pass successfully, but you can do this on or off campus. Where it says "Find Your School," please enter 'SUNY Monroe Community College - Rochester NY' and use your MCC email address to activate your pass.
If you are a faculty or staff member, your pass will be valid for 364 days once activated. After this period of time you will need to reactivate your pass by re-entering your email address at Access NYT. If you are a student, your pass will be valid until the end of the graduation year you enter while signing up.
Your pass includes unlimited online access to The New York Times and mobile applications, including international, Chinese, and Spanish editions. You also have access to their archives dating back to their first year of publication (1851) and the NYTimes in Education site. Cooking, Games and e-reader editions (e.g. kindle Fire, Nook, etc.) are not included. However, you can add a subscription to Cooking or Games to your free institutional account.
Mobile App Access
Once registered, you can now scan a code to download the New York Times app for iOS and Android devices.. This app is an extension of your free NYT's access, and offers exclusive audio content ("listen to this article" feature). NOTE: New York Times Audio is currently only available for iOS. Users must activate their New York Times News subscription In order to access New York Times Audio. Users who are logged in to your institution's onsite wi-fi with their iPad or iPhone will not be able to access NYT apps unless they redeem a News code/pass first.
