What is the Samsung SDP-860?
The Samsung SDP-860 is a document camera that can be used by people with limited or low vision to display and magnify a physical document onto a screen so the user can view it properly. The Samsung SDP-860 has a control wheel on the device that allows the user to change the magnification.

The Samsung SDP-860 is located in Room 2-210 (CAT) on the main (second) floor of the LeRoy V. Good Library.
How do I use the Samsung SDP-860?
- Turn on both the ViewSonic monitor and the Samsung SDP-860.
- Be sure the document camera head of the Samsung SDP-860 is aimed directly down.
- Place your printed material underneath the document camera lens.
- Adjust the initial zoom mechanically by raising or lowering the lens on the gooseneck.
- Then use the zoom buttons on the control wheel to finetune the image to the desired size. The image should be in focus automatically, but there is also an automatic focus (AF) button on the control panel.
