About Distance Learning Library Services & Resources

Welcome to MCC Libraries Distance Learning Library Services & Resources website. Click on the links on the left side of the guide to explore quality information resources.

Library services to MCC distance education and online students are parallel to service for campus students. Service is based upon the Standards for Distance Learning Library Services guidelines developed by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).

Finding Books

Use the Find Books & Media page to search MCC Libraries catalog for books and other materials available in our collection.

Off-Campus Access To Library Databases

Use the Find Articles & Databases page to identify library databases and search for articles available in professional journals, magazines, and newspapers. Off-campus access requires sign-in with your MCC student email username and password.

Obtaining Items Not Available Online

Can't find the article you need in one of our online databases? Request a copy of it using our Interlibrary Loan service (Illiad). ILLiad offers e-mail delivery of articles not owned by MCC Libraries. Articles will arrive approximately 48 hours to your MCC e-mail.

Also use Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) to request:

  • E-mail delivery of book chapters which will arrive approximately 48 hours to your MCC email.

Research Help

Use the Getting Started with Research page for help with searching for books and articles, plus tips on writing a research paper.

Visit the Research Guides page to see the variety of subject research and course guides created by MCC Librarians to help support MCC course content and assignments.

  • For additional help schedule an appointment to meet with a librarian and get personalized help with your research. These one-on-one meetings last about 30 minutes, or use the "Chat with a librarian 24/7" button on the left side of the page to get "live" online research help from a librarian.
