The staff of the Library and the Learning Commons are dedicated to the academic and professional success of all members of the MCC community. We have designated areas in the Library and Learning Commons for quiet study, conversation, and group work in order to accommodate your needs. In return, we expect you to use the appropriate area for your activity and to maintain the appropriate volume level for that area.
If your behavior is disruptive of the work of other Library or Learning Commons users or staff, a staff member may ask you to be quiet or to move to a different area. If you refuse to comply, a staff member may ask Public Safety to remove you from the building. If removed from a building for disruptive behavior, you are barred from using either the Library or Learning Commons until you have met with a senior MCC Libraries staff member and a Student Services conduct officer and agreed to comply with these policies.
Disruptive behavior includes, but is not limited to:
Those who persist in disruptive behavior face further action, including revocation of Library and Learning Commons privileges.
In general, use the stairwells (Library) or hallway (Learning Commons)
if you must take or make a phone call, especially long calls or calls of a private nature.
