How to Find Regional Data

You have two options for finding regionally specific data:

  1. Identify organizations that specialize in data on the region, such as the NY State GIS Clearinghouse.
  2. Search national and global data sources for data sets specific to the region. For example, Neighborhood Scout provides crime date for every U.S. city, so you can search the site to find crime data specific to Rochester, NY.

This page lists several sources of data on Rochester and New York State, but you may also want to look at the organizations listed on the other two pages of this guide, as many of them will be relevant for finding local and state data as well.

Accessibility is important to us. While we have made efforts to make our guides as accessible as possible, it is possible that issues could be present. If you are having difficulty accessing content in these guides or if you have any questions about the accessibility of online information posted by the MCC Libraries, please contact us.
