Persistent Links: Adding Links to Library Materials in Brightspace

Step-by-step instructions for linking to articles, eBooks, and videos in online library databases.

Making Persistent Links to Articles in the ScienceDirect Database

  1.  Perform a search in the database.
     
  2.  From your results list, click-on the title of an article of interest.
     
  3. Copy the URL that appears at the top of the browser window OR the DOI link in the article record and paste it into Notepad or similar text-only editor.

 

Where to find the DOI and Persistnt URL link in ScienceDirect to access a full text article

 

  1. Add the following prefix https://ezproxy.monroecc.edu/login?url= before the URL.

Persistent Link Example: 

https://ezproxy.monroecc.edu/login?url=https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1529943022001449
 

DOI Example:

https://ezproxy.monroecc.edu/login?url=https://doi.org/10.1016/j.spinee.2022.03.017

  2. Check the link from a computer off campus to make sure it works from outside the MCC campus network.
