In your reference list, only the first word of a title and the first word of a subtitle must be capitalized. IN YOUR TEXT, ALL TITLE WORDS LONGER THAN FOUR LETTERS MUST BE CAPITALIZED.

Titles of longer works (TV series, photo albums…) have to be italicized.

BUT titles of shorter works (TV episodes, video clips…) must be put in quotation marks.

The bibliography or list of works cited is very important, but remember that it is equally important to also use in-text or parenthetical citations. More details available in the sources linked from our Citation Resource Guide

Also Do Not Forget

When formatting a works cited page, remember:

  • Organize all entries in alphabetical order.
